Cover Artist Richard Phillips

   

The cover of the book KEEPING HOUSE: A MADAME PRESIDENT MYSTERY was painted by watercolor artist Richard Phillips, who lives here in Greensboro.  Richard is the husband of my friend and audiology colleague Dr. Susan Phillips.  Richard's work is currently available at The Yew Tree Gallery in Greensboro. Here I show a pen and ink drawing Richard did of a large tree outside the Ferguson Building at my office at UNCG. This old tree has quite a soul, and it seems to reach out with encouragement on tough days at work. I named the tree Abraham.

New Camera for my BLOG!!!!

Well, the tax return came in...

And I bought a camera to support my new blog!

Orion's Rose Jewelry...

I've begun making jewelry (as if writing mysteries isn't enough to keep me occupied), and here are a few of my recent creations. First, I've begun playing with wire wrapping with copper wire. Here is a piece done with orange glass heart and Czech fire polished beads.

 

Here is a necklace made with pearls and bead by Gaea . Here I made the clasp with black annelled steel wire, as shown to me by Deryn Mentock on her Something Sublime blog.  

 

Here is another necklace that I made with lime jade beads and a new heart bead by Gaea.

Best bead store in the world...

Last summer I went to Amarillo and discovered the Beadz Shop, the best bead store I've ever seen! It was amazing.  Tucked away in Pucket Plaza shopping Mall, you'll find strands upon strands of glorious beads, all waiting to come home with you! My bags were full when I stepped on the plane to come home!
